Sage Honey
Bees are such incredible creatures! I love watching them do their work on the flowers around my home...which is one of the reasons I always let my sage plant flower a little too long. The beauty of its purple flowers against its green leaves is another.

About This Series
This beautiful bug series sort of created itself. Since I'm always looking for detail, for those small moments captured by the eye, insects and other 'beautiful bugs' have frequently become a focus for my work. While often considered pests, creepy crawlies, or even just annoyances, insects play an important role in our ecosystem. As a child I was fascinated by pillbugs, lightning bugs, and of course butterflies, but I'd forgotten how enthralling they could be until I took up art and started to really look at the world around me once more.
