If the moon were made of cheese...well, Sammi would definitely figure out some way of getting up there to eat his fill. I had so much fun painting this flight of whimsy--especially the little crumbs of gouda lingering in his whiskers.

The Cosmic Candy series is a playful, less realistic take on the idea that everything is part of everything; we're all star-stuff, to lazily quote Carl Sagan. I've been fascinated with everything to do with space since I was a young child, whether that takes the form of science fiction or science fact. The images that we're able to capture these days through incredible scientific advances just blow my mind. There's so much beauty out there, and so much here on Earth, and I just can't help but combine the two.
