A building sketched in white tones on a black background looks old and abandoned, the door missing. Mysterious red eyes staring out from within.

Night Smoke

The old smokehouse at my grandparent's home was always slightly mysterious to me as a young child...and so I decided to make it even spookier. I used white charcoal on black paper, and then added just a touch of color from pastels for some eyes peering out of the dark interior.

About This Series

This haunted old farm series is based on the old family farm that has since been sold, the buildings long taken over by nature and crumbled to dust. It was sad to see it go after my grandparents passed, and the long process of decay, but in some way, using it as inspiration for my spooky imagination has allowed me to reclaim some of those fond memories.
