One day, when Michelle was about ten years old, she started crying inconsolably because she'd just realized that she'd never be able to actually step into the world inside the book she was reading. The words had painted a picture that felt so alive, so real, that it felt to her as if the boundaries between fiction and reality just couldn't be there.
Ever since then, she's been drawn to works that recreate that feeling - something so real that it feels like she can step through the frame. It's a feeling that she tries to bring into her own artwork. Whether she's drawing a squirrel or painting a mermaid, she strives to capture a sense that her subjects are alive. In motion. Looking back at you. Reaching out to touch you - or inviting you into their world.

Thank you to all who came out to support me at Art on Oak! It was a wonderful experience, and I'm so lucky I chose it for my first art fair.
You can next see my work in person at Buttonwood Art Space for their Resilience in Bloom show, running from 1/5/26 - 3/25/26. (More details here!)
